This MacBook Air 13″ came in with a cracked LCD panel. the crack occurred by something hitting the top left of the screen. You can see the impact point towards the center of the circle. As you can see in this picture, the impact point crack can cause issues across the entire display. Sometimes with a crack in the right place, the entire display will be black and no video will show at all.
Replacing the LCD panel on this computer fixed the issue!
